Please join us for a conversation about the relationship between mental health and mass shootings in the United States with Dr. Gary Slutkin, the former head of the World Health Organization’s Intervention Development Unit and founder and C.E.O. of Cure Violence, a Chicago based non-profit that reduces gun violence by treating it as an epidemic. Dr. Slutkin is also a Professor of Epidemiology and International Health at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Lunch will be provided. News and Views is a student-led event series on news of the day that provides UChicago students with the opportunity to hear from prominent Chicago-based academic, civic, and media leaders in a meaningful off-the-record conversation.
