Does bipartisanship matter? Do Americans care if their elected officials are able to work across the aisle? Are the days of Tip O’Neill and Ronald Reagan long gone? Join the IOP as it welcomes former Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood as he explores bipartisanship in his new book Seeking Bipartisanship: My Life in Politics. As a former congressman, and a Republican Cabinet secretary in a Democrat administration LaHood has had a front row seat to both partisan wars and bipartisan effectiveness, and he explores the implications of the increased partisanship of today. IOP Director, David Axelrod, will join Secretary LaHood as they look to when frenemies became plain enemies and if there is hope for bipartisanship in the future. Book signing to follow.
